OK....my husband's parents were divorced when he was very young and his mother got custody of my husband and younger brother. She moved the boys constantly so their father wouldn't find them. When they asked about him, she told them he knew exactly where they were and could contact them at any time. Since he didn't he didn't care about them. Of course, this was a huge lie and she paid dearly for that lie. She died a very painful death from cancer in 1987. Anyway, when my husband and I were planning our wedding, I asked him if he wanted to try to find his father. He said no, he wanted nothing to do with him. He believed all the stories his mother told him when he was young. So, I never asked him again about trying to find him. We got married and 2 years later, we had our son. He was 5 months old and I had just gotten home from my son's 5 month check up. I was sending an email to family and friends to update them on our son's check up. I saw an email with my husband's name in the subject line. I opened it and it was from his 2nd cousin. She had done a search online and found me and thought I might be her cousin (my husband). I only use my initials when I list myself and my middle initial is the same as my husband's. She said she had been in constant contact with her uncle (my husband's father). Her grandmother and my husband's father are brother and sister. My husband's father had been so good to her when she was little and when he got a computer, she hooked it up for him and the first thing he asked her was how could he find someone on this thing. She took it upon herself to find his son. In her email she listed her phone number. She listed names that only family would know. As I wrote her an email back, I told my husband to call her. He called and they started talking; he was asking her questions and she was answering them - every one of them. He paused and I told him to ask her what his mother's maiden name was. She was Italian and had a long Italian maiden name. Surely, a true family member would know that. He asked her, and without skipping a beat, she told him the name. He dropped to the floor and sobbed. He knew he had found his family. They talked for several minutes and then she said she would have her mother (my husband's first cousin) call. About 10 minutes later, she called. We sent her all sorts of pictures of our wedding and our baby. She printed them out and said she would get together with her daughter (the one who found me) and her mom (my father-in-law's sister) and would go visit him the next morning - surprising him with the pictures. You have to understand, at the time, my husband was 37 years old and had only seen his father one time when he was 9. OH...I forgot to mention - this was 3 weeks before Christmas!!! Anyway, they printed out all our emails and all our pictures and put them in a photo album. They wrapped it in Christmas paper and made the 45 minutes trip to his house. They went in and put the package in his lap. He opened it and said it was nice, he needed another photo album. With tears in their eyes and tissues in their hands they told him to open the book. The first page was a close up picture of my husband and I immediately after we were married. My father-in-law looked at it, said it was very pretty, but who was it? His sister told him, "Look at those eyes. Don't you know those eyes?" My husband looks EXACTLY like his father. He looked closer and in shock looked up at the 3 ladies. They were all now crying and nodding yes...it was his son. They said they had talked to him and me. They said they had our phone number and we were eagerly awaiting a call from him. Once he composed himself, he called and talked to us for about an hour. He is the dearest, sweetest man. We made arrangements to go out there over New Year's. I had 4 days off and we could go and celebrate the holiday with our 'new family'. After 9 hours in the car, we finally got there and were welcomed with open arms. I met ALL my in-laws at one shot!!! People came in and out all day, most bringing food and several bringing gifts for us and our son. I felt like I had known these people forever. My father-in-law and several of his siblings sat down and we talked. He said he NEVER stopped looking for my husband and his brother. All my father-in-laws siblings agreed. They knew what he had gone thru all those years. Even though we live 9 hours away from each other, we are very close to his father and we talk as often as possible. OK...my hands are starting to cramp up, but remember, you said you wanted LOTS of details!!!!!

last yr i went to summer camp. it sounds boring, but it was actually a crazy time in my life (short life so far). i made friends, about three close ones, and we were inseparable. we decided to play practical jokes on the other campers...pretty tame stuff like dipping hands in warm water, etc. one of my friends decided that our jokes were lame and wanted do something crazy. she thought about it for two days and then finally let the others in on her little plan. she was devious and had thought of the perfect practical joke. that was the best summer camp ever. i have so many memories and got into so much trouble. good times.

I moved away from family last october, it was not fun and I missed my family and relatives. My mom surprised me with a nice visit that my husband planned along with her to see me and the kids. I was so happy...... spent lots of fun time with her and my kids.
