This country has changed dramatically starting in the the Reagan years. Many central institutions have been severely compromised including "the free press", the congress, the CIA and the Pentagon.Today we enjoy less freedom, less political access and many of our ideas of the world are shaped by public relations firms working for the executive. We are the pariah of the Western world, breaking treaties and conventions at will.

I don't think the fundamentals of our government have changed much. It's true we have more laws every year, but we need to keep up with the times. Certainly our economic practices have changed, and our government is trying to protect it's people with welfare programs and such. If we didn't have these "socialized" programs people would sstarve. On the other hand these programs give lazy people no reason to work, but it would be unethical to not help. As to things like the CIA, some things are better kept secret for periods of times, for national security. So what if a gov doesn't tell the country evry single thing? Are we going to whine about it? No form of government is perfect, but ours is the best. And it won't be changing anytime soon.

First of all, Reagan was the best Prez since T Roosevelt. So leave off him.
#2 We aren't 'ripe for revolution' because the KEY ingredient in revolution is to have an unhappy middle class. The middle class in the US is reasonably happy, or at the least, comfortable.
#3 A pariah is self sacrificing if I am not mistaken. According to your explanation, we, 'the US' are a bully, not self sacrificing.

We already have a different form of government. The states have ceded most of their rights and responsibilities to the centralized federal government allowing for the majority of power to be wielded by a person or party.

Not what the founding fathers had in mind.

What, you left out the part about having to wear a tin foil cap?

You are a liar. We are not "less free" and do not have less "political access"... We are MORE free under Bush than we were under Clinton -- the expirations of Clinton's un-Constitutional gun laws are just an example we are more free.
