You didn't say what his birth weight was, but here is some information...
Normal weight for a 6 month old boy is13 lb. 2 oz. to 22 lb. 7 oz. About half of all boy babies will weigh between 16'4" and 18'11". This is based on the newest growth charts (see sources section below)--the first ones ever to be based on a population of babies who are known to have been well-nourished.
I hope this helps!!

My daughter is 7 months old and weighs 15 pounds. As long as he is active, appears healthy and is happy, I'm sure he is doing just fine. Good luck!

I'm not any help, my son just turned seven months and weighs 23 pounds! He was 11lbs 3oz at birth though. Have you started solid foods yet? That would help alot. if you don't trust what your doctor is telling you don't be afraid to ask for a second opinion.

my baby just turned a year and he only weighs 23 pounds the doctors say he's fine. 15 pounds 6 months sounds about right. i also breastfeed and had a very hard time with it.

Your baby sounds fine. They triple their weight in the 1st year. As for them not gaining weight, I went though that with my son, they insisted I was not feeding him properly.
They put him in the hospital, used words like 'Mother claimed.....' after 3 days of him being there and feeding him, he had lost weight. He just needed to eat incredible amounts to sustain his metabolism.
Your baby is doing fine. New Moms are often paranoid. So don't worry.
If he is active, alert and sleeps through the night, you are doing something right. Congrats.

Every baby is different, but 15 lbs around 6 months old is too small. My grandson is normal weight and height and he is 14 lbs and 3 months old. Their weight should double by the time they are 3 months and I think triple by 6. But not sure how long baby is. It is up to your doctor, just make sure you see him regularly.

sounds like ur a 1st time mommy and mommys get paranoid, it natural. i can`t remember what a 6 mo. old should weigh, but every lil one is different, so i would just check with your pediatrician to see if ur son is gaining right for his age. good luck !!

that sounds about right, if you're overly concerned, call your dr about it. If you are a first time mom, you'll be paranoid about EVERYTHING, which is normal, my daughter is 2 now and im a first time mom, its normal to be a bit paranoid, but trust me, your son is fine, be worried if he all of a sudden QUITS eating at all....

His weight sounds normal, at his age he is probably crawling and getting around, so he may lose a pound or two.
