This is really supposed to be a place where you can ask your questions, without having to pay for it, and get answers from ordinary people.
IMHO, prizes should be awarded to those who have the most best answers. Then I think more people would be taking Yahoo! Answers a bit more seriously.

No, you try your best to help people with their questions and problems, just like you would want others to help you with your problems and questions. You get points, but the important thing is that you helped someone.
