So, does anybody else notice their *ahem* down there smell bad once in a while? Like...really strong, kinda fishy? Would antibiotics make it smell bad? What about a yeast infection? Is it something you eat that makes it smell different? I'm a vegitarian, but I'lve been one for 6 years and this thing has only been for like the past week. What the heck is wrong with me! I've always been normal without using "freshening cloths" or whatever, and then all the sudden, this. Help!

Probably a bad yeast infection, or bacterial vaginosis. Go to a doctor, they can give meds to clear it right up.

Don't use douches and clothes, you are self cleaning and can throw off your balance down there.

I agree with fubiegirl, it sound like a yeast infection. Are you experiencing a white discharge? Antibiotics interfere with our natural flora. It is common for women to experience yeast infections related to antibiotic use. There are over the counter medicines things you can use but, it would be best to call your doctors office and tell them what is going on. Stop the bubble baths, wipe front to back after urinating, wear cotton underwear, increase your fluids and call the doctor

Different foods actually can create different smells and/or tastes...the same as with urine, but not as likely. As for that whole self cleansing thing....yeah thats true, but an occasional douche doesnt hurt. An exgirlfriend would have an occasional low flow period and if we didnt have sex or any kind of penetration for a few weeks afterwards...she would get a certain pungent smell. One douche and it was back to normal though.

And Im not gay....Im just a very attentive person and a good listener.

Sounds like a typical bacterial infection sometimes called Vaginitis, its no big deal your Dr. will give you an antibiotic. Your other options are STD or yeast infection only you would know what the chances of STD are, have you been safe? If so the bac. infection is prob. your beat bet

a micro organism perhaps is there. can be come from sex or improper wiping.. trichinosis is the fishy odor part from that organism also swimming in lakes can do that.. yeast smells like yeast so go to the clinic or gyn to be treated if it is a thin watery discharge its trich if its thick and white its yeast.. yeast u can treat naturally in a yeast medicine from cvs available and taking acidophilus. an odor tho means organisms.. also after your menses each month a clear distilled water douche is ok to do but not vinegar it imbalances the tract.

it has a lot to do with what you consume and your menstrual cycle - it usually happens the week before. it is really nothing to worry about (unless it is really strong and you should see a doctor) - just take a little more time in the shower in the morning, drink more water and remember to take multi-vitamins (as a vegetarian you will never get the needed dose of Iron and Zinc, no matter how many mushrooms and broccoli you eat).
If you get too worried, just get into your GP or gynocologist for a check-up.

Bacterial vaginosis is the number one cause. Sounds like your problem since it has only been a week and is not normal.
