250 cc. its a 1986. thats fine for me now because im a woman and a beginner. only 5 ft tall. but heres my question. i was told harley sued honda that year because it very closely resembled a harley. has anyone else heard this? does my 1986 honda rebel 250cc resemble a harley?

No.What you were told was probably not true, but Harley seemed to sue everyone for anything, not long ago. "If they had as many engineers as they do lawyers, they'd build a better motorcycle".

Where do you think honda all those years ago got their ideas from Harley. But A sportster is a great choice of Harley from what you described about yourself. It is asmaller bike and it does handle pretty well. You'll love it!!!

According to a great many of my Harley riding friends...a Sportster is pretty much bottom feeding. They've told me they'd buy and ride a metric before they'd buy and ride a Sportster. Personally i think H-D's are over priced and over rated.

I doubt that very much,the engine isn't even designed like a Harley

i barely heard it but for years now honda bikes have looked like harleys like that new honda cruiser bike that has so many changeable parts

your honda has a smaller but better engine than the hardley.
if hardley could sue for that though, then they'd be sueing LOTS of other bike makers.

if was my choice it would be a Yamaha V-Star 650 custom which is a good size for you and great handling with plenty of power.
