I suggest you pay. If there was other traffic going 80 MPH you would have blended in. You got noticed because hardly any traffic was around. Unless you were in a life threatening situation, there cannot be a good enough reason to be speeding.

That posted speed limit is there for a reason. You were going 15 miles an hour over the speed limit.....In Arkansas you could have gotten a ticket for reckless driving also. Look at it this way....what if you were in a school zone and the posted speed was 35. If you were going 50, would you still be complaining? You got caught. Pay and get over it

Sorry but anything more than 10mph over is a good reason for a ticket. I know that sounds bad because I do the same often, but my cop friends all say a good rule of thumb is no more than 10 mph over the speed limit.

the maximum i go on highways is 10 mph over the speed limit. by law, yes, i can get a ticket. on city roads, i go 5 mph maximum over the speed limit. and yes, i could get a ticket for it. so you take a chance of getting a ticket when you go over the speed limit. its just a question of what is the maximum you allow yourself to go over the speed limit? if i see a cop, i go exactly the speed limit. if i dont see a cop but cars are travelling the speed limit, then thats a sign for me that a cop is nearby. but to answer your question, yes it s fair that you got a ticket. you took your chance by going over the speed limit and you got caught. bottom line.so pay the ticket.

15 mph over the posted speed limit? PAY! If you had caused an accident and killed someone you would be going to JAIL for vehicular manslaughter.

Pay it... you were speeding
After all... if you go to court and try to argue your way out of it, the judge will still make you pay and you'll have to also pay court costs (in most cases)
Just because everyone does it doesn't make it legal... this is basically an affirmative defense and in the case of traffic laws, doesn't help you :(

just pay. cops have friends and can put the word out to make certain that you PAY AND PAY AGAIN if you even TRY to fight the ticket. just lay down and take it! oh, and by the way... that same officer drove 85mph all of the way home on that same stretch of highway that very night... i think in my next life i'll be a patrol officer.

How are you going to argue it? Your were speeding. The speed limit is 65, if you exceed that you are breaking the law.

Pay the ticket. You will not win if you fight it. The officer is right -- you were going over the limit.
