I'm not a professional writer, though I have written several pieces of short fiction that friends have enjoyed, so I'm not without experience. I'd say the most important thing is just to let your imagination run free. Don't try to think too hard, but fantasize and play.
Write down each little idea that comes to you as it happens, before you forget it. Or maybe speak it into a voice recorder you keep at your side through the day. If bits of dialog come to you and you like them, write them, too. Feel free to arrange and re-arrange the order of these events -- a word processing program is very handy! Each of these ideas will likely grow as you let yourself imagine, and you can flesh out the details as they come to you.
If you're stuck, it may help to ask yourself "what if?" questions. What would happen if Tawny got in a horrible accident and lost the unborn child after she lied to her ex and said it was his and in fear and remorse he killed himself after proposing marriage to his second wife who, coincidentally has just been hired as Tawny's boss? (Whew!) The point is, you can come up with situations you think are hard to deal with, and that will provide the conflict and interest for anyone reading.
You don't say whether you'd like to sell this novel. If that's the goal, learn as much as you can about the market, and about selling a book as possible. If you just want to write a book because it's something you've always wanted to do and it would be a labor of love, just do it, and make the main focus having fun. Good luck.

Depends on the climax...
More seriously, think of the kinds of novels you have liked to read. How were they fabricated (lots of ripping bodices and heaving mounds, or something more intelligent)? Perhaps that could give you guidance those of us who've never read the genre cannot.
Good luck!

most start with talk about the lead character - during an everyday task like going home from work, describing their characteristics, sort of life they lead (usually a one they feel is boring with bad relationships) - and then into the meeting of the couple, then on from there.
good luck!

Well my first thought would be at the first time the main characters meet and how do they get to fall in love!

I would start with a dictionary - "writting"? Or are you a lawyer creating a writ? Ha.... just teasing you. Good luck with your book!

Look at three of your favorite movies or book beginning to help you get an idea of how yours should go.

Do character profiles before you start, it will help you along the way to keep them real.

Try starting with something that has happened in your life. And if that makes you feel like that is nothing, then exaggerate! That is what is all about! Exaggeration!

Buy a word processing program with spellcheck. That would help a lot.
