I would like to write a play that addresses some GLBT issues - especially bisexual issues. What topics within the bisexual world are people interestered in hearing? What controversies/dilemas are people dealing with?

(I am a creative writing and theatre student and bisexual, so I have a lot of the knowledge I need to write something well, but am wondering what other GLBTs think about having a bisexual play.)

There really isn't a lot out there that's bisexually-concerned, is there?

Of course, as a writer, you know that the things you can bring your emotions to will speak most loudly. (I'm an actor and playwright as well). But I also wanted to applaud looking for other issues.

People really do seem to treat bisexuals like eternal Hamlets, don't they? "make up your mind!" Well it is made up!

Also, dating is much more complex for bisexuals. I, of course, was the perfect date for my bisexual high school boyfriend, but others aren't as understanding as I am. The level of honesty and integrity that accompanies bisexuality is incredible and I don't think people appreciate that.

A bisexual friend is having incredible issues with her mother over grandchildren right now, particularly as she is in a lesbian relationship but doesn't want to have children with her partner.

Good luck with the play!

I would like to see something about bi people being put in the middle and not really greeted with open arms by either the straight world or lesbian/gay world, with humor put in there. The too gay for the straight people and too straight for the gay/lesbian people issue. And the myths. You know the ones about not being "real", sitting the fence, threesomes, unloyal, and the other lies. Maybe even something about a jaded lesbian that doesn't what bisexuals to be "real" then some straight guy says the same thing about her. I'm a writer too (for fun) and love drama. I have so many ideas, fun stuff. Tell me what you are going write about when you know. I would like to read the play when you're done. And if you need an actress, look me up. I thought about this before too.

Oh and ignore that first post. She is not God and therefore cannot speak for him/her. That just showed her ignorance. Hasn't she ever heard of adoption? And is the only reason we are here to have more little humans? I like to think it's all about love and learning about different things. Peace baby.

Hi. I am a drama teacher and a playwright. I suggest that you write about the issues YOU have had to deal as a bisexual. Maybe you have had conflicts with gay or lesbian people who may regard you as a "traitor". (I have heard gay people say that) or you could write about the curiosity straight people have about your sexuality.
I teach children the basics of writing plays and I always tell them to write from their own experiences. Oh, the things they write about!
Right now I am writing a play that deals with ADHD. My son has this condition, and since he was very small, his experiences in school would be from terrible to wonderful, depending on the teachers he had, I am also writing from the heart.

You can highlight how the straight people are always telling us the bible says it is a sin but ignore the sin they all commit often discussed just a few verses away from the one they are bashing us with.
Also please do address the fact that we face as bisexuals just as much bigotry from the gay community as we do from the straight.
Good luck or break a leg or what ever you theater buffs say.

you could probably put that if God said it was ok for people to be GLBT, then he would have made it possible so that everone could give birth. God made it this way becasue he is saying that we need a man and a woman in a relationship because you can't have a baby without having that other peson.

You can argue that most Bisexual people don't want to be given a label.
