These are pretty tough plants that I've even transplanted in August ,and here in Indiana it's pretty darn hot in August. Just keep the plants watered and they can do the rest.

Lily of the Valley is pretty tough but the general rule is:
Spring planting for fall bloom/ fall planting for spring bloom. I'd wait until Early September. Give them 6 weeks to get established before a hard frost is due.
