steelhead slamon can live their entire lives in rivers. They are a landlocked or freshwater salmon. They are in the Great Lakes. They spawn and go back and don't die off. I have caught them before on hook and line great game fish.

No, because it would have to somehow get downstream before it can go upstream to spawn.
