Which bible are you talking about?
There are many kinds of bibles such as the first five books of the Bible, called the Torah or Pentateuch or Five Books of Moses, the Old Testament, the New Testament, various prophetic books (Isaiah, Jeremiah, etc.) and the wisdom literature (Psalms, Proverbs, etc.) and the different bibles for Catholics, Protestants and Jews....
I personally think they're just stories written by some monks that to pass morals to the younger generations. Monks and nuns were instrumental in the production of the bible since they were the ones that hand wrote all the copies until the printing press was invented!

There is no main author of the Bible. Several people wrote the Bible several decades after Jesus died.
