On the bar where it was right click.

Click customize and find the icon in the "Available" list. Highlight it and click add and you will have your "go back" button again.

View menu
Toolbar sub menu
make sure the "standard buttons" option is checked

Click View at the top of your screen and choose Toolbars. There you'll see Standard Buttons...check that!

yes it maybe lost till you retrieve it, fool around with the bars and arrows at the top. you may have to hit customize and add it back in.
