We should start calling them "Homicide Bombers" and be more accurate.

I honestly this is a very complex question to answer. On one side, I would never end my life to push any idea in the way that a suicide bombing does, but, on the other, I understand that when a really powerless group of people fights a very powerful group of people (take small muslim countries vs. the US for example), sometimes you do not have many other ways to fight than to take actions like suicide bombings. That being said, I am completely against the destruction of human life in any way, shape or form and done for any reason whatsoever and think that both Bush sending troops that are killing a good number of muslim people in the Middle East, and Al Qaeda doing terrorist acts are both wrong, but, to understand the reasons behind both sides' monstrous acts we'd have to try to understand the reasons behind the rulers that push the commiting of those attrocities, as well as the reasons that make the individuals committing them to commit them. On the top level, you'd have to ask yourself why does Al Qaeda attack the US and why the US attacks the Middle East, on the bottom level, you'd have to ask yourself why a person from the US would be forced to go and kill innocent arabic citizens as is being done in Iraq as well as why a person from the middle East would be forced to lose his life while he kills innocent US citizend in a suicide attack like the one done on 9/11. In my opinion, the reasons behind the leaders of both groups of people are fundamentally wrong and it is monstrous that they are pushing their citizens to commit such attrocities and hate a group of people that, on the other side of the world should have no reason to hate them.

They are misguided people. They are fanatics and influenced by persons who lost their power of reasoning. Long term jail may not change their view point and are danger to society. The subject needs research to find out proper root cause of this unusual behavior.

I think they are taught to believe they are doing something super wonderful by ending their own lives and taking as many as possible with them.

It's a brainwashing that begins in early youth and never stops. It's just horrible.

I think they're pretty stupid. I do, however, have to grudgingly respect the guys who find them and talk them into it. If you can convince some guy barely out of puberty that dying is cooler than screwing, you can do anything.
