10% is the same as 10/100 (the % sign comes from the number 100) which equal to 1/10. So 10% of anything is 1/10 of anything. 1/10 of 501 is 50.1 or 50 1/10

I know without George and Dick there to tell you what to do and when to do it, life can get very complicated. To find 10% of anything you move the decimal one point (number) to the left. To find 20% you take that 10% number and double it, etc. Therefore if George says he will give you 10% of the take if you play his game, and the "take" is $67,000,000,786, 000 you get $6,700,000,078,600, don't let him cheat you like he did to the religious right, and the taxpayers.
