Easy.
Just move the decimal point one place to the left.
Right now the decimal is sitting behind the 1. One place to the left would place it right in front of the one.
Answer: 50.1

10% is the same as 10/100 (the % sign comes from the number 100) which equal to 1/10. So 10% of anything is 1/10 of anything. 1/10 of 501 is 50.1 or 50 1/10

I know without George and Dick there to tell you what to do and when to do it, life can get very complicated. To find 10% of anything you move the decimal one point (number) to the left. To find 20% you take that 10% number and double it, etc. Therefore if George says he will give you 10% of the take if you play his game, and the "take" is $67,000,000,786, 000 you get $6,700,000,078,600, don't let him cheat you like he did to the religious right, and the taxpayers. Just move the decimal over one place to the left (to make smaller) to find 10%
