10 years ago I would have said no BUT, today, due to the new global market, the answer is yes. Corporations today want to be able to manipulate/control the masses to a global extent that we have never seen before throughout the history of the industrialized world.

I don't believe they are. But, they must be enjoying the lack of enforcement of consumer laws etc.
