put your sandal in a Ziploc type bag and put in the freezer for awhile to let the gum freeze, then use a putty knife or some sort of tool like that and scrape it off.

Put the sandals in the freezer to harden the gum, then scrape off as much of the gum as you can with a knife. Remove whatever is left with Goo-Gone.

Wal-Mart carries a product called Goo-Gone. It works for gum, motor oil (took it out of white carpet!) , lipstick, crayon...
It's made from Orange Oil.
It will disolve it completely and not leave an oily after appearance like some of the others can.
