Yes, it is okay. Most tampons can be worn overnight for up to eight hours.

If you're going to be asleep for under 8 hours, then according to the package it's not a big deal. The risk from long-term use is Toxic Shock Syndrome (TSS) which is very rare, and has caused fewer than 2 dozen deaths. If your flow is heavy, then you might err on the side of safety and go with a pad.

I put one in before I go to bed and first thing in the morning I take it out. Sometimes I sleep more than 8 hrs. Have been doing this for many many years now and never had a problem. So based on my own experience, I see nothing wrong with leaving it in over night.

I think it is generally an 8-hour thing. You take the tampon out after 6-8 hours. Longer than that could cause toxic shock syndrome or other problems.

I wouldn't. Tampons are relatively safe but they can still cause Toxic Shock Syndrome if left in too long. To be on the safe side, I'd use an overnight pad.

Yes, as long as it is freshly inserted before bed. There are lots of warnings on the box but it is not that easy to get Toxic shock. As long as you are clean and take good care of your personal hygiene you shouldn't have a problem. Take it out as soon as you get up and you will be fine. There are alot of other thing that will cause toxic Shock before tampons will.

Yes, it is certainly fine to do so. In times of extremely heavy flow, some women use a tampon, and then a pantiliner pad also, just in case. Just change the tampon in the morning.

a tampon can only be in for the maximum of 8 hours and then you are at very high risk of developing TSS (toxic Shock sydrom).

My aunt does. I think that you can but be very careful when doing so b/c u could get TSS and I dont think any girl wants that. Just tell ur friend not to keep it in for longer then 8 hrs.
