Yes, this is included in the Nicene Creed from 325 AD:
We believe in one Lord, Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, ...
With love in Christ.

The official position of the Roman Catholic Church (RCC) on this issue is that Jesus is the Son of God. But for individual Roman Catholics (RC's) there is no unanimous agreement. Many liberal RC's would say "no". And while many conservative RC's would claim that these liberal RC's are not really RC's, they still count them in their official numbers. The RCC is a man made institution that has evolved over the cenuries, but it's official teaching has remained pretty much unchanged since the Council of Trent. In the end individual RC's and individual Protestants will be held accountable for what they believe before the Son of God. The unconvincing claim the the RCC is infallible won't cut it in the end!

What does it matter what Catholics believe....Christ was not Catholic! Rather, Christ told us that we are all sons of God and that we could one day duplicate his work if not better it. The difference between Christ and the rest of us is "IQ" and his ability to put his money where his mouth was. The Guy Walked his Talk. After all, if you believe you are a child of God or don't believe....in both cases you are right.

Yes. Catholics believe Jesus was the son of god. BTW, Catholicism came before all other organized classifications of Christianity. What'd you think they believed?

Yes, but they also believe that as part of the trinity, he is the manifestation of God on earth. It's rather confusing. the Nicean Creed really put forth the most impossible to understand "definition" of God, that has ever been established as a religion's "official" stance on divinity. I suppose ultimately, this is what you should refer to for the Catholic stance on Jesus and God. Best of luck with that, though. I think they were better off before the Creed.

ok, if I understand my mother in law correctly.
Catholics believe that they have to ask Mary (mother of Jesus) to ask Jesus to ask GOD, for what they are praying for.
My mother in law says that this is because Jesus is busy and doesnt have time for all of us, so if we ask his mother, she will make him answer our prayers.
So yes, they believe that Jesus is the son of GOD, they just dont believe that they have constant access to him. I guess they think the curtain is still up and only holy mary can go in and pray for us.
