Freedom. Freedom to learn, to express ideas and to share them. That is what the internet is at it's best. Not all of the ideas are acceptable by the general public. Hate and exploitation are also spread throughout the internet. But, it's always up to us as individuals whether we use it responsibly. That goes for everything.
Yahoo answers is a good example of the sharing of ideas. It allows communication between people from all over the world, with many varied views. Some questions and answers are truly awful, while some are intelligent and insightful. That's OK. Content is only important to the posters, whether Q or A.
I would like to believe that use of the internet is limited only by the individual, but that is not always true. There are still places where the use of the internet is severely limited by governments, as well as limited technology and access. When these three things are overcome all citizens of the planet will be free to explore, express and share.
