we bought our first home, husband does like the paint colors I chose, but now he wants to decide the flooring and I feel like it isnt my house, he has been fixing things to get ready to move in.
im having a candle party next month, but it seems I will have to say "look at what my husband has done"/ question is:
how do I stop feeling like it isnt my house,? I would like to say" look how i decorated this or that", but wont be able to. how to stop feeling like I dont have a say in the rest of the decisions of the decorating.?

If you choose everything, will your husband feel it isn't his house? Think about it... the two of you need to think of it as "our house."
The ideal thing would be if you could both look at the flooring and find one that both of you like. It may not be your first choice or his first choice, but learning to compromise is important.
Do you ever watch that HGTV show Designing for the Sexes? The designer helps a couple find a style that both will like. It's eye opening.

Hmmmmmmmmm! Usually it is the husband complaining that the wife want let him decorate. I have a few suggestions for this issue and you choose one that you like best to use:

1.) Let him decorate til his heart is content and be proud that your husband was able to accomplish it and lifting a big stressor of your back.

2.) Express your feelings to your husband and come to a compromise about sharing decorating the whole house or 2b.) dividing certain rooms between the both of you and leaving the last room left to be shared.

3.)Waiting a month or two and changing only the things that really grate your nerves.

4.) After talking to your husband do a combination of 1 thru 3.

I sincerely hope everythings goes well. This situation is going to take a lot of give and take, take and give for both of you. So another suggestion is to keep your eye on the prize which is to have a home and a space to enjoy each other as the years go by.

Husbands decorating ideas?

If you don't let your husband do some of the decorating, he won't feel like it's HIS house either. I let my hubby have input on whatever I decide. Make compromises...you picked the paint, let him pick the floor. Or give him a room to do on his own, anyway he wants, and you get to do the same. (My compromise is no frilly girl stuff in the bedroom.)

Listen..It isn't YOUR house...it belongs to both of you!!!! consult your husband in your choices and he will in turn do the same...maybe his actions are a subtle way of saying the same thing.....
