The best advice I ever received in my life was from my dad.

When I was about 7, I saw my dad give our garbage man a Christmas tip of about $25, and I asked him, "Why did you give the GARBAGE MAN a tip?"

My dad replied, "Son, treat your garbage man with the same - if not MORE respect - than your doctor, lawyer, banker, or teacher(s). Because if you go 30 days without seeing any of them, you'll realize which one become the most important."

It took me a few minutes to understand what he meant, but when I did it made perfect sense to me. It's a lesson that I will never forget, and have tried to pass on to my niece and nephews.

Not done yet, but after 7 kids, 2 careers, 3 wives and 2 countries the best I can tell you is keep trying because no matter how it looks at the moment, something different is over the horizon. My life is better now than it has EVER been.

I have been very successful, a failure, happy, sad, exalted, chastised....and I figure I got 50 years to go!!!!

It is a trite cliche, but....life is not a rehearsal.

Whatever you have can be taken away.

Whatever you want you can get (really).

So...god or nature gave you this life...my advice is...LIVE IT!!!!

I have learned that it is better to have loved and lost than to have never loved at all.

I have learned that whatever cannot kill me, makes me strong.

I have learned that home is where the heart is. Wherever I go, whatever I do, if I want to, I can find HOME wherever in this world.

I have learned that life is not all about money, that the most important thing in this world is to love and be loved.

I have learned that in order for me to want that others change, I should start with me.

I have learned that we are all different yet we are all intrinsically good.

I have learned that happiness is a choice. When things get me down, I should not choose to wallow in it because the more it will make me miserable.

I have learned that smiling at others, whether or not I know them, makes them feel good and that it also make me feel good.

Never judge a person by their out side always judge by whats on the inside. On a blind date with a really good looking guy, or should I say 27 year old child ( I was 25) we went dancing at a bar with other friends. Well to make this short I needed to go home so he walked me to my car, at this point I liked him. But that changed as 5 guys with knives demanded our money, he pushed me in front of him and ran back into the bar and never said a word to any one (that includes the police that were sitting by the front door of the club). I did not get hurt nor did they get my money I lost my temper and took a knife from one of them and they ran off. I don"t know how I did it, with the knife, at the time I was to mad to care. So from experience I really believe the saying don't judge a book by it's cover.

Never get too close to anybody because then you end up with a slap in your face if you get what I'm saying, or too far away from somebody because you need people you can't be completely isolated from them. And never trust anybody but yourself and God.This is a lesson that I will pass on through my generations.

Every action has a re-action
I can change myself, but I can't undo what I already put out there.

Be humble and everyone else before yourself. Then you'll have nothing to complain about.
