How do I keep ants AWAY from my desk??
Today in the afternoon around 4:00,
there were ants in my desk!!
EWW!!
It never happened to me before...!!
Even if I didn't and my desk was neat/organized,
is there a way to keep ants from coming in my desk??
(I don't keep food/drinks/sweets in my room.)
How would I keep the ants away like, a fastest way to keep them out??
PLEASE!!
I use windex to clear the ants,
water (but not the cleanest way..), and I get a papertowl to swipe them off?
What can I do to keep my desk/room ant free??

Well what you could do to keep them off your desk is to apply two sided tape all the way around the legs of it. What you can also do too is to sprinkle some diatomecious earth on the exposed side of the tape. Insectigone is a good one to use and it can be found at any hardware store. To completely rid your home of ants, there is one sure fire way. Raid ant killer, it is sold in a tiny red bottle. It contains boric acid. The best way to apply it is to put some in the lid of a tupperware container in an area where ants frequent, you can even mix it into honey for a little extra attraction. The ants will take it back to the nest killing the entire colony. I know it works, for 2 reasons I am an entomologist and my parents and myself have used it and it works fast and effectively. Read caution label on the bottle, try not to injest and keep children and animals away....Good Luck! It'll work!

There is a product that is sold at Home Depot/Lowe's, but I am sure that you can also find it at your local stores like Kmart or Target as well.
It's called Terro. It comes in an orange cardboard like package, and inside is a bottle of liquid. Just take a cotton ball and douse in liquid, and wipe around the perimeter of your desk. It will kill and keep the ants away! I live in a townhome, and the house next to me is vacant. They must have had a bug infestation of some kind -- because one night I am making dinner and seeing all these ants run around -- and my kitchen is spotless!
I quick got the Terro and wiped it around all the problem areas. They were gone within 24-48 hours.
Hope my info helps!
P.S. Rubbing alcohol will also keep them away too! Just put some on a paper towel and wipe the area. But the alcohol is more of a temporary solution, while the Terro is more permanent! Plus, Terro is way cheaper than calling the exterminator! Under 5 bucks!

I also have pets and just recently had an ant problem. I tried a sprays and ant baits. Neither of those worked. The ants just walked around where I had sprayed and never went in the traps. I asked around and a friend recommended Combat ant killing gel. I found some at a local hardware store and it worked great. I was amazed at how attracted the ants were to the gel and then how fast they died after eating the gel. And my pets were not at all interested in the gel.

Get some of the raid ant baits and set them around the desk. That will kill the queen and end your infestation. Repeat when necessary.

Buy "Terro" from a hardware store. Put drops of it where the ants are entering the room (windowsill, floor, etc), but out of reach of pets or kids. Ants love it! The little guys carry it back to their nest, and after a while they mysteriously disappear :)

At your local grocery store with the pesticides, they sell Ant poison. What it is, its a little plastic container that contains food and poison. The ant eats it, and then takes it back to the colony where it kills the entire colony. I had to buy that because my bathroom was infested, and it worked wonders. Hope this helps.
