Various specialists including Psycholoists and Pshichiatrists have provided so many answers. All still remain as hypothese. As at now, more and more research are been carried out on individuals who claim to be born with a homo gene. A certain time, some people said that in terms of guys who turn out to being gay, they must have grown up with elder brothers. That hasn't been scientifically proven to be right. But i personally would say that homosexuality isn't a "genetic disease" instead a way or type of behaviour one decides to live due to one circumstance or another such as not being accepted peer etc.

If homosexuality was a genetic disease it would show a clear relationship from parent to child, and in families. The most telling evidence is that from identical twins, which shows that homosexuality occurs less than half the time in both twins when one of them is homosexual. Since indentical twins are genetically indentical, you would assume this number to be 100% (or near) if homosexuality was genetic. There may be a genetic predisposure to homosexuality, but there is no gene that says you will or will not be gay.

No because if it were genetic it would need to be passed down to offspring - same sex couples can't have offspring so if it was truly a genetic occurance it would have died out due to lack of offspring. Also if it were a mutation, it seems to happen at an extremely high rate, and you would expect species other than humans to have a similar mutation in some cases. I have never heard of a case of a homosexual animal other than human so I would tend to think it is a choice rather than biological

It's not a Disease its a choice that people make on thier own. No studies have found Homosexuallity to be genetic or a Disease. It's just a nasty Lust for someone of the same sex.

If it is, as many say something that "some" are born with, then it must be a genetic problem of some level. I am saddened that there is not any or enough research to find out what it is and hopefully find a cure or at least a prevention of it.

but for many it is still merley a life style choice, a sexual freedom issue.

i think its more of a curse but this brings us down to 2 answers well on one hand people are saying there born that way but for them to be born that way and in society its fround upon than it would be as if they were a person born with no bone structure so it would be considered a genetic disorder esspecially if the parents arent and in most casses they arent then there dna would be disfigured but since it isnt scientifically provin that its a genetic thing than i guess it isnt unless someone can prove that they have a gay distant uncle or aunt and that it was related to that like if your parents have aids than you probably do to or if your grandmother has heart problems than you could to but for homosexuality i dount thats the reason i think its more of a social disorder cause you cant dont or wont like the opposite sex and since it alters your behavior around people by sex than it could be considered a social disorder but whatever

No, and its not genetic either. Homosexuality is a decision made by the individual. That individual can be influenced by others but whether or not the person is homosexual has nothing to do with genetics. God created ADAM and EVE not ADAM and STEVE.

Disease? No, but there is a genetic component and, in theory, it could be corrected but that opens up a big can of ethical worms.
In the womb, I'd say "correct" it but once a person has come of age, and they are happy with themselves, that's a tough call.

homosexuality is not a mental disorder or disease.
Genes play an important role in determining whether a man is gay or heterosexual. Sexual orientation is partly determined by family factors, which are to some extent genetic.
By no means is sexual orientation genetically determined but clearly genes are playing some role by interacting with a range of environmental factors."

It's mother nature's way of curbing the population. Another example is during war. At times of war, the increase in male births rise a whopping 75%. Mother nature has its own homeostatic set points to keep the world balanced.
