I agree that it is a wonderful place to park the vehicle & sleep for awhile, then drive on. ☺
I have bought quite a lot of things from them, like curtains, CD-RWs, cat things, etc.
I DO have concerns
1 - altho their prices are very low, they are probably putting some of the smaller companies out of business.
2 - I have chatted with some of their employees, and I noted that they may have only 1 or 2 cashiers on duty, and there are a dozen cashier stations with customers waiting??
3 - I suspected that WalMart was not a happy place to work for, and some of their employees confirmed that.
4 - I heard that WalMart discourages their employees from filing workers comp claims, even if the injury may be legitimate.
Their GOOD qualities are:
1 - Very good prices
2 - Great product selections
3 - Most of the time, good service - depends on the city. (I lived in several different cities)

I don't like Walmart. The stuff they sell always looks cheap and tacky, plus they don't have any benefits for their workers so the workers have to go on the public dole for their health needs, even their retirement--just to make an obscenely wealthy family even wealthier. It is this kind of unlimited blind all consuming greed that is destroying America. You have to have a middle class thats making enough money to buy things to keep business in business, but Walmart workers get basically enough for food and rent and little more. So I never shop there.

I love Walmart. I practically live at Walmart. Just today I went to purchase a few things. Not only is it the cheapest place on the planet, it also has nice employees, a wide variety of stuff, and fast lines to check out. It's like DisneyLand for me...the happiest place on earth!

I am sad to say that I do shop at Walmart. However , I believe it will inevitably put the little guy out of business and once it has succeeded in doing this the prices will go up and employees will be treated a lot worse.

I have nothing against the store, but who would? I guess small business owners. I mean I understand the fact that walmart is slowly destroying the small family business, but at the same time it is creating thousands of job opportunities and giving the American people cheaper options. However, that whole shipping jobs over seas thing is a big worry!

I think Walmart should be called "The Shopping Center of the Government of China"
Without Walmart, the Chinese government wouldn't be able to sell half its merchandise.
I don't hate walmart, but I like zellers better, more convenient.
The consensus seems to be Walmarts clothes REALLY suck. I'll have to check them out next time just for fun, lol.

I live in Wal-Mart. It is probably the cheapest place to buy many staples, like shampoo, soaps, and just about anything else. Why pay more, when you can get it cheaper at Wal-Mart? The only thing I rarely buy there are clothes ( although I will buy socks there)

Wal Mart treats their employees like a piece of dirt! Won't give them full-time hours, so they don't receive any benefits.
Recent lawsuits spoke about Wal Mart not paying overtime for employees.
All they care about is the bottom line profit---employees are nothing to them. I will NEVER give that multi-billion dollar corporation a penny of my money!!!!
