Guilty.

On January 25, 2006 Cassidy was convicted of involuntary manslaughter and aggravated assault. He was sentenced to 11½ to 23 months in jail and was credited with the 7 months he had already served. Cassidy was released from jail March 2, 2006 after serving eight months. He is now on parole for an unspecified length of time. He is now working on his third album.

The reason I believe that he was guilty is that he had the resources to ensure that he would have been found innocent if there was any doubt. He was originally charged with first degree murder despite one of the witnesses changing his story. The judge told Cassidy ". He had stored weapons in anticipation of a shootout.

Of what?

I've no idea who that is or what he/she/they/it was charged with. My guess will be guilty, because it fits the parameters of your question.
