If you are asking what the answer to life, the universe, and everything, then the answer is the number 42.

But if you want to know what the overall purpose of you being alive? I honestly don't know, its different for everyone.

But if you feel you need something to do in order to feel like you are "on the right track" in your life, here are the best things to do:
1. Try and be nice to people.
2. Avoid getting fat.
3. Read a good book every now and then.
4. Get some walking in.
5. Try and live together in peace and harmony with people of all creeds and nations.

If those are to hard, then maybe life is not for you. Commit suicide or something........

"I was put on this Earth to help other people. But heck if I know why other people are here."

What is the meaning of life? The question itself contains a word that is a misnomer. The word "life" should actually read "death" since this existence that we all like to call "life" is really "death." We all reside in the world of the dead, in "Hades" or "Hell," if you will. And of course, the dead know nothing, hence the reason we're continually asking "What is the meaning of life?" Since we're also inquiring of the dead, we get no sure replies.

Those receiving the gift of life and resurrected will no longer have to ask "What is the meaning of life?" Being alive, they also have knowledge and the answer to the question before it's even asked.

I know the answer to this. You live and die. What you do in between that time really does matter. What you say. What you think. What you do. It matters. Why? Because the meaning of life is for each individual to develop a personal relationship with God. If you leave planet earth without making an effort to do this, you have truly missed the point of the meaning of life. Why is forming a relationship with God important while you live? I suspect that it's because we didn't make ourselves so we must be accountable to the One who did create us.

I happen to believe in what is written in the first four books of the New Testament. These books describe the life of Jesus Christ who is the embodiment of God. He is God in the flesh. In my opinion, He is the absolute quickest way to answer your question: What is the meaning of life?

Jesus said He is "the way, the truth, and the LIFE"

Peace.
