trying to un-install Mcafee so I can reload it. Won't remove due to vsocfg.inf is missing

Please do not manually delete the McAfee folder. That will cause you major problems. They make it so you can't do that to keep viruses from deleting the program.

You need to go to the McAfee website, and they have uninstallers for all the different McAfee programs. Find the one for the program you have and run it. It will correctly uninstall and clean up the program.

Only way to do it. I see this one daily as I support a site with 1400 computers running McAfee.

If you still have the installation program, re-install and afetr the installation finishes you will be able to sucessfully uninstall it.

that is the config file that tells what macafee products are installed, you will either have to reinsatll it and then uninstall it, or remove every entery from the registry and the file system to macafee, and all startup references
