I see him every other weekend. Sometimes he's okay but then sometimes he flipps out and it is scary. It's all verbal- he doesn't hit or anything. He's not very reliable and embarrasses us at work and in public. He bribes my brother to come see him.
Mom takes care of our needs, like school, doctors and is always there for us. What do i tell the judge?

I think you should tell him your concerns just the way you did here. You can say you have mixed feelings.
Maybe the judge could set it up so you wouldn't stay for the weekend, but could see your father for shorter times. That way it wouldn't affect you so much if he "flipps out and is scary."

Do you understand what causes your father to flip out? Sometimes understanding the causes make them not so scary or embarrasing.

At some point you will be able to choose who you see and when you see them. With any parent you can be caught between having a deep bond of love for them and still disliking them or fearing them or being angry at them at this bizzare level that messes your relationship up with them. Try to keep a clear head about your decisions and also make your wishes and feelings known to your dad. Tell him that his behavior is messing up your ability to feel safe with him.

If you have to testify before a judge (I'm guessing prompted by your mom's efforts to remove you from him) don't go along with it.

You have already made up your mind. But may I say this...this is about a father being allowed the opportunity to visit with his own daughter. It is not about being a perfect parent. Do you see how weird it is that a father has to get permission to see his own child? Shame, shame, shame on your mother. She has set you against your own father by making him the bad guy and her the good guy. (Your father bribes your brother, so what, your mother is actually do this on a daily bases) She should have been encouraging you to be in contact with your father. She does not want to share you and wants you to only to love her. She encourages you to be dependent on her. This is not a healthy attitude, but very common. Ask yourself this.. Is it or is it not better to be loved by as many people as possible in one life? Why not give your father this chance.

SWEETIE FROM YOUR POST, IT'S EASY. YOU TELL THE JUDGE YOU DON'T WANT VISITATIONS WITH YOUR FATHER. JUST CUZ HE'S YOUR FATHER DOESN'T MEAN SH*T! YOU HEAR! YOU DON'T HAVE TO VISIT WITH HIM. YOU SAID IT ALL! YOU ANSWERED YOUR OWN QUESTION!

YOUR MOTHER DOES EVERYTHING. SOUNDS LIKE YOUR MOTHER IS ALSO YOUR FATHER. I MEAN I'M SURE YOU LOVE YOUR FATHER REGARDLESS, BUT YOU SHOULD NEVER BE FORCED TO BE WITH HIM IF YOU DON'T WANT TO.

OR YOU KNOW YOU CAN HAVE CHAPERONED VISITATIONS WITH HIM. THAT'S A GOOD IDEA IF YOU DON'T WANT TO WRITE HIM OFF COMPLETELY. YEAH THAT WORKS. YOU SEE YOU STILL GET TO SEE HIM AND HE CAN'T TURN PYSCHO CUZ IT'S CHAPERONED!!!!!!!!!!

WIN WIN BABY!!!!!!!!!! OH YEAH! I LIKE IT. IF HE'S FLIPPING OUT, YOU JUST DON'T KNOW WHAT HE COULD DO TO YOU. HELL MAYBE HE SERIOUSLY HAS A MENTAL ISSUE. NOT CRAZY PER SAY, BUT SERIOUSLY HAS SOME KIND OF CHEMICAL IMBALANCE YOU KNOW. THAT CRAP IS REAL. AS REAL AS REAL GETS.

SO TRY THAT AND DON'T BE AFRAID OF YOUR FATHER OR THE JUDGE. YOU NEED TO THINK ABOUT WHAT'S GOOD FOR YOU AND YOUR BROTHER. I MEAN WHAT THE HELL IS YOUR FATHER DOING BRIBING YOUR BROTHER! WHAT FOR!? THAT'S WHAT I WANNA KNOW.

WELL GOOD LUCK TO YOU. KEEP YOUR CHIN UP AND DON'T LET YOUR DAD BRING YOU DOWN OR PUT YOU DOWN. KUDOS TO YOUR MOMMA. STRONG WOMAN. GOOD WOMAN.

Samantha's right. What is going to make you happier? Yes, you may hurt your dad, but if he learns the truth and really loves you, he may be willing to change. Good luck.

It's your opportunity to be honest, even though the truth may be painful for your dad to hear. Good luck.
