I've had chronic sinus and chronic tension headaches most of my life. They vary in intensity and I know which are which. Massage helps the tension headache. Avoiding mucus causing foods is all I can do for the sinus headache since I'm on medication for other things that keep me from taking medication for sinus problems.
But the worst was one long excruciating headache that I'd had as long as I could remember and never went away- until I got the mercury removed from my teeth! I wouldn't be alive today if I hadn't. It just kept getting worse every year. I also had really bad chronic fatigue. They both went away once I'd had all my molars re-drilled and filled with composite fillings.

This may sound ridiculous, but headaches can be caused by allergies, not the kind that make you sneeze and get a stuffy nose, but food and environmental allergies.
I never knew red dye gave me a headache, until I started connecting the dots and realized everythime I went to a birthday party and had koolaid as a kid or had anything like Hawaianne punch, it made my head throb. My mother started packing Hawaiann Punch drinks in my lunchbox and I would get a freaking headache every day at school. I have some other headache causes such as artificial smoke flavor and red wine. I am not a hypochondriac, just get headaches from foods. I am 40 yrs old and it took years for me to figure it out.
Try looking at an allergy as a source of your headaches.

Are you low? I was prone to headaches when I had GD if I let my levels get too low. Honestly, I think it sounds like a migraine. I get about one a month. They are always concentrated right behind my right eye. But I get a full body ache and I can't stand any noise. Everything is amplified. If it is a migraine, pain relievers aren't going to do a thing. The only thing that works for me is aspirin combined with a shot of caffeine and sleep. Then just wait for it to pass. Sometimes it can take days for it to go away. I'm really prone to them right before AF.
