Definitely! I did it after a 20 year relationship failed. He had lied, cheated nearly the whole time, abused me, and used drugs then lied about using them. I finally had enough and left him for good.
Soon after leaving him (I had detached from him emotionally for about a year before leaving), I met the love of my life, my true love, my sould mate!! It took me awhile to give my heart away, and I had put up barriers for quite awhile because I had been hurt sooooooo bad for sooooooooo long, but I eventually did it and I have never been happier in my life!!

YES. As the saying goes " THIS TO SHALL PASS". Before you start dating mend your broken heat, meaning to get to know you once again. Sometime when we get in a relationships we lose our self and forces on the us in relationships. This is why I feel that while your in a relationship take time to date yourself, once a month I take me out or I hang out with some of my good friends. So before you start something new, leave the old baggage behind!! because whom ever you deal with should not have to pay for the person who hurt you. Wishing you all the best in the next journey of your love life

It's harder... you make barriers, but you also have experience to help stop the same mistakes again..
