Don't leave your job until you have a real plan what to do next. You also need to figure out if it is the actual job you hate (the type of work) or if you just hate the workplace. If you will take a substantial pay cut, you will need to make appropriate adjustments in your lifestyle. If you quit and do not have another job, your life will be very difficult.

Money is great but it is not worth being miserable to obtain it. Carefully analyze your present job, compare it in your mind to other jobs you feel you would be qualified, make sure your expectations are reasonable and your present job cannot somehow be improved. Also, talk to people older than you and more experienced in the job market than you, and explain your situation and ask for advise as to whether or not you should keep the job, whether or not your expectations are reasonable that another (and possibly worse paying job) would be better, etc. Weigh your responses up, consider educating yourself in another field while working this job as a means to an end, or even send out a few resumes if you see interesting ads. The money isn't worth staying in a deadend job you despise, but just make sure you are reasonably certain that another job will be more fulfiling to you. Good luck!l

It depends on your prospects out there in the real world. If you can find the perfect job tomorrow, then leave. But the chances of that are slim. I would suggest that you look around your company and see if there is another position, perhaps in another department, that you would find more interesting, and then work towards the goal of getting the job. Or, is it possible to expand what you do and make your current job more interesting? If work on an assembly line, building widgets and you're bored out of your mind, look into the possibility of management, or quality control or some other aspect of the job. But never leave a job until you KNOW you have another one lined up. It's a cold cruel world out there.

Quit your job unless you can find another one that really interest you.But since you say you earn alot, why not just stay with it and take up something you like at the same time? So it kinds of balances the likes and dislikes. Beware of things that you like for awhile but maybe after three months regret that you have made the choice three months back. Think carefully before you quit!

What's the point of having a job you don't like? Every day, you get up and don't want to go to work, because you don't like it... How great is that? not very....It doesn't matter if you make alot of money or not.....whats important is that you enjoy what your doing as a job, so i say you should go....leave and find something that you really enjoy....

Money does make the world go round. Try thinking of the many more things you can enjoy outside of work with the money your making their. As opposed to what you can't do, enjoying your job, making less money. 'Just a thought'

Well it depends on what you want. If you are unhappy and want to leave, make sure you have an offer elsewhere before you leave. Or, you may be able to get relocated to another location/department/etc within the same company -- you know, expand your career development. Some bosses are supportive of you wanting to move around.

It's your job, and your life. A lot of money is good, but if there's something about the job that's making you miserable find something else before you leave.

Good luck!
