You cant speak for all gothic kids.

Some do have behavioral issues.........depression...... feelings of being outcast........ no one to talk to and no feasible outlet........it goes on and on and on.........

Some goth kids just do it for fashion purposes and just like the look of being different..........they dont look upon the goth lifestyle as a bad thing they LIKE being "outcasts" although they may be just as "normal" as you or I and just like the attention from being different...........

Gothic kids are trying to find there place in the world like the rest of us. There are all kinds sad, mad, happy, yes and some evil. Most thy are trying to make a statement as all teenagers do. I like there freedom of expression. I have talked to allot of them at work some are poor and not very clean. Other are very sharp and take baths everyday. Most have an issue with an adult. An adult parent thats not there for them most of the time. The good thing is thy have a group to fit with, Keeps them from being alone.

The kids that I have met that are gothic have chosen to be that way because they want to be different than the rest and they want to stick out .They definately have a different way of viewing things I notice a lot of them are a lot like the "hippies" were in the 70's .
I am not one to say whether a person is evil, but the way they dress would indicate depression or being evil. Most of the ones I have talked to have just expressed the desire to be different and for the most part they were extremely sweet. Some of them were very off the wall. I respect everyone regardless of who or what they are. People will be people and we all have our preferences! :)

I have been gothic for a very long time. I was the strange hippie dress in black and giving out black flowers. Most of the flowers I grew were very dark and black, yes there are black flowers. I was nither sad or evil I just liked that whole vampire child of the night thing. WE do not worship death, the creatures we like are immortals, there as always been those who like the dark side of things and dark dose not = evil. There is alot of older people into it, not just teenagers, darklinks.com as been around of over 10 years. That is the best place to go for all things gothic. It is just a different way of think. Please stop putting his in the same vain as punks we are not and they are not gothic. Two different mind sets. Maybe if some of you get in touch with your inner vampire, and wee all have one, you can see that it is fun not sad.

Probably no more than kids that dress in more conventional fashions - they're just expressing their individual style. Or they're following someone else's choices and trying to make them their own.
Sad, mad, and evil kids dress in all manner of styles. The nice guy/girl, the urban guy/girl, the preppy guy/girl, the casual guy/girl, styles and choice of styles - there are so many variations.
Kids, teenagers, young adults, adults, middle age adults, older adults, everyone expresses their selves thru the way that they dress. Except, if you work at a fast food restaurant and you have to wear those stupid uniforms or a job that has guidelines such as "professional dress" and all you do is answer the phone.
So I believe that Gothic dress is just a form of expression!

The scientific truth of gothic kids. Gothic kids are those kids who are raised ugly or without confidence, and in the end to fit into some sort of social niche, they choose to become something 'out of the ordinary' such as gothic or punk. Word

I was what you know call goth, I was neither evil or sad. This very question is why I was and am. People are to quick to judge others on appearance. I wanted people to know me before they put a stupid label on me. Of course they labled me anyway but that's ok. The point is if you can't get passed how I dress than you don't need to be in my life anyway.

I think kids go through many typical phases; including goth. Not everyone goes through the goth phase but I don't think it's uncommon. Usually it's a time to want to be "different" Just like how toddlers go through their terrible twos, there is another phase called terrible teens. Teens are hormonal so they could go through a depression phase, which is probably why they are attracted to the goth culture but once they start to figure themselves out, and most learn to deal with their emotions better and realize that they look like vampires or dark clowns, they'll start to come back to reality.

Some of my adult friends used to be Goths in high school. They generally tend to agree that it was issues with family, depression, attractiveness, or grades. They then feel that since they don't conform to "normalcy", they would like to be "different", and adopt such a look and lifestyle. Unfortunately, after becoming adults and giving up the Goth phase, they realized that in their effort to NOT conform, they simply conformed anyway to what was considered different. In the end, all 4 of them have deep regrets about that time and several like to forget it ever happened.

Not at all, they are disillusioned and going through an adolescent phase. Some of them are crying out for attention. Every generation has its goths, full of angst. Often for no reason other than raging hormones.

Sometimes, it's the perfect bookworm geeky kids who pull off acts that one wouldn't connect with them at all.
Sad, yes..evil, no !

true goths are just a group who like dressing a certain way they are not evil or depressed.. the ones that are like this are not true goths they are the hangers on that every group get that are looking for something but have no idea what it is that the group are about..real goths dont care how you dress or what your idea's are as long as you dont try and change them they wont try and change you true goths are not into devil worship ( they would be satanists ) it is just that many people see some one young dressed in mainly black and they think devil worship and I did say mainly black because if you do ever get to meet true goths and pay attention to what they wear you will notice that they dont always wear black some of their clothes are bright but just not all of them
