Terry Pratchett's "Diskworld"!
"It is said that whomsoever the gods wish to destroy, they first make mad. In fact, whomsoever the gods wish to destroy, they first hand the equivalent of a stick with a fizzing fuse and Acme Dynamite Company written on the side. It's more interesting, and doesn't take so long."
"As the cauldron bubbled an eldritch voice shrieked: "When shall we three meet again?"
There was a pause.
Finally another voice said, ... "Well, I can do next Tuesday."

in case your searching for a thrill, or some suspense, i'd counseled something from Stephen King, Duma secret is a particular in demand, yet when your going for some shorter memories with merely as a lot element, each and every element's Eventual, and four previous hour of darkness also are strong possibilities. in case you want myth, examine the Xanth sequence by utilizing the author Piers Anthony, outstanding e book's, very brilliant and they save you in touch, consistently an enthralling examine. (there are 32 contained in the sequence now i trust)

I do like a good series...
I love the Ender/Shadow series by Orson Scott Card. Ender's Game, Speaker of the Dead, Xenocide, Children of the Mind, Ender's Shadow, Shadow of the Hegemon, Shadow Puppets, and Shadow of the Giant.
But one of my new series will be those written by Stephenie Meyer beginning with Twilight, published in 2005. New Moon the first sequel will be published in a few months. And I think a new book will follow each year. Her books are wonderful.

Simon Green's Hawk and Fisher, Mercedes Lackey Valdemar series, Tanya Huff's vampire series, McCaffery's Pern series. Sherrilyn Kenyon's Dark Hunters is one of my favorites. Vampires, werewolves, dream hunters, ancient mythology and romance all wrapped up in one. Also Christine Feehan's Dark series and Catherine Asaro's Aronsdale series.

ARRRGGGHHH! I can't decide! Diskworld is good. So are the Myth series by Robert Lynn Asprin and The Wheel of Time series by Robert Jordan. But I THINK my favorite is the Dark Tower series by Stephen King.

my absolute fave is the john jakes series "the kent family chronicles"-historical fiction beginning in england pre-revolutionary war with the bastard child of an english nobleman and continues through 1900 covering many epic moments during it's course.
i also like the stephanie plum series by janet evanovich-it's good for a hearty laugh and grandma mazur is my new hero.

I just finished Laurel k Hamilton's new Anita Blake book, "Danse Macabre". I think I should've waited for the paperback. All Anita did in the book was wait for everyone to explain everything to her and screw. No vampire or lycan politics, no monster hunting and executions. I waited a whole year for this book too.
