My friend who lives in another state just broke up with his girl. Didn't hear from him in about eight months but just popped up to vent about broken heart. Gave him the shoulder, but now he has found a new love interest and has stopped calling me. Should I tell him about himself and that I am pissed? Just cause there is a new love interest, does friendship stop or not? Am I right for being bothered?

That isnt a friendship, he is only using you for support. Tell him either he needs a friend or Dr. Phil.

If you're feeling it, baby, it ain't wrong. It's easy to feel used when a friend contacts you only when he needs something from you, whether it's money or a strong shoulder to cry on. If you value this friendship, you need to speak up. He probably doesn't even realize what he's doing (haven't we all been so caught up in love that we've neglected others?); hopefully he values the friendship as much as you do and will do what he can to repair the damage his carelessness has caused.

If he doesn't change his ways, and you're tired of being his dumping ground, then it's time to dump him! Good luck.

He looks upon you as a good listener. He obviously doesn't want a relationship with and you should not feel bad about that. Be glad that he calls you with his troubles. Be a friend. They are hard to come by.

I have a friend like that. she only calls when there's a problem w/ her mom, otherwise forget it. I think if you really like him then you have to put up with it. If you don't think he'll change then it's not worth complaining about.
