I used a Black and Decker 4 1/2" Angle Grinder (about $30) and diamond blade ($15) to cut a concrete sidewalk to put a 1/2" pvc pipe drench. This blade (wet/dry) cut up to 1 1/2" depth. You have to deal with the concrete dust if you dont use water in the cutting area.

well how much cutting are you doing - if its a lot rent a wet saw with gas engine- if only several small cuts purchase a grind type blade and install it on you portable electric saw - you will need 2 to 4 of them they go fast. they run $5-10 each and come in several types for metal and cement and brick etc.

a reused type is the dry diamond blade but it will cost you $25-50 you can install on your portable ele saw

caution: have a good dust mask and eye protection - I use a face shield there is a lot of dust and flying debris

do not try to cut all the way through in one cut - go slowly in a rocking motion - it may take several passes.

Depends on what size concrete. Diamond blades are what is used on circular saws for small jobs. They use industrial grade diamonds. You need a water hose running on it. Plus it helps to keep the dust down.

I agree with the rentals suggestions. If you have several rental places in your area, do some shopping around. Someone may not charge for the blade if you don't damage it.

THE CORRECT WAY WOULD BE A WET SAW. THE CHEAP ONES YOU CAN USE IN YOUR SKILL SAW ARE JUNK.
