This is ridiculous. FIFA says they want diving out of the game s they don't call anything and penalise the players who try to play fairly!!!

no, I don't think Rooney deserved a red. He did push Ronaldo, but I think that was more because of the fact that they're teammates and they know each other. I think that's why the ref gave him the red though. The stomping of the foot, wasn't that at all, it was during the run of the play and it didn't seem like he was going out of his way to stomp the foot like Marcus Vick did during a Virginia Tech game.

Yes. For people who don't know anything about football and opine anyway, the rules are very clear on aggressions. And that is what he did, after the play stopped. He doesn't have the excuse that he was jut going for the ball.

Yes he deserved it - Rooney was stupid for reacting that way, if he had not shoved him he would have just got a booking. Even if he was provoked he should not have reacted that way, ref sent him off for the shoving. Ref was not even interested in Rooney until he did that!

As a referee, I don't disagree with the red, but I would have given a yellow and talked to him and told him that if he does anything dumb he's gone.
