look at the finger and go to the doctor if any of the following appear or are present.

1. Active bleeding. That means if the blood is flowing and driect rpessure can not stop the flow.

2. The finger is charred but not blistered. Usually charring is a sign of severe burn known as thrid degree burn. If left untreated it can become gangrened which means it will need to be amputated.

3. Any puss. This is always a bad sign.

If none of the above exist. It probably is not that serious. Treat the cut as you would any cut with first aid cream and a band aide. The bandaide will also help the burn especially if the burn is 2nd degree (blisters).

take 800 mg of acedaminofin (tylenol) silvadene cream, wrap the finger in butterfly sutures you can get all this at a walgreens or similar. Put the butterfly sutures on to keep the cut closed, these are very sticky and will not come off even in water which what you want. Apply some silvadene cream to the burn places on finger then wrap it all up in coban. Hope this helps, this what the dr. would do if you go depending on how deep the cut is. Butterfly sutures work the same as stitches.
