It is sooo insane! It is like they just want to torture us by making us talk to people who do not understand what you are saying. They constently ask you to repeat what you JUST SAID!

The government is taxing the hell out of everyone, including businesses. So, apparently, by outsourcing jobs to other countries, they avoid the taxes, and most the time foreign workers will agree to lower wages, because the cost of living way out yonder isn't as expensive as here in the United States. I know what you mean, though. It's all because of the Feds!

Greed. Greed. And oh, yeah, Greed. I know a lot of tech help speak broken English, yet they try. Can't ask for more. Also those tech help jobs are not so well paying, that someone could own a house in the burbs. Outsourcing of computer programming and computer engineer design jobs that's a different story. Those are high paying, highly technical jobs. Yet Corporate America prefers to outsource them to appease the shareholders. It's the shareholders that look for profits on their investments, that's why good jobs are outsourced. So, in other words, the rich get richer, and the middle class is slowly dissappearing from our society.

The bottom line is...It's always about the money. How can corporate america get the most for the least. This helps the CEOs COOs and any one else with bonuses get even more money. It makes one wonder why American's are expected to support products and services from america when corporate america doesn't support it's customers. The mission statements are a laugh when they start off "We at such and such believe in customer satisfaction and being loyal to our customers".

The costs of doing business are higher in the U.S. than elsewhere.

$2500 of the price of a GM car is "legacy costs" for health-care and retirement benefits. Japanese auto-makers don't have these high costs ($300) because the Japanese government pays for health-care and social security. Japanese legacy costs are spread among everyone in the society rather than being concentrated on the company.

This makes Japanese cars more cost competitive.

Corporate America does this because they are, first and foremost, responsible to return a profit to shareholders. One way to do this is by reducing costs, and outsourcing is CHEAPER, especially for call centers.

American companies oursource work to people who are willing to work for the lower wages that Americans will not accept. Outsourcing work also allows American Companies to keep their prices low so that all Americans can afford what the company has to offer.

It is cheaper. I know first hand, my company is currently doing so and it is hard to work with foreign accents. It is also building the foundation for better understanding of cultural differences.
