cover the eyes with a towel and put in a dry place this will keep eyes warm and they will hatch when they ready

The other thing is...are the eggs fertile? Did a male mate with the female turtle? If not, there is no way they will hatch. I've had turtles, but none ever laid eggs. If they are like my lizards, they will lay infertile eggs, just like chickens do.

to pick the eggs up you must first mark the top side with a pen or marker. If the eggs get turned and left upside down from the way the mother laid them , the embreyo will drown. They should be incubated at I think 86* with a humidity level of about 45% for about 45 to 60 days. It all kind of depends on what kind of turtle it is. Check out www.kingsnake.com you should be able to find a breeder or someone within that website that can help you out better.

Eggs laid in water do not hatch. The trick is figuring out if they are 'practice eggs' or a real laying.

Turtles do 'practice eggs' rather often. They will be small groups, laid in places other than nests, and rarely hatch.

If your turtle is going to lay more eggs, you'll need to provide a beach or nesting box.

they're buried in sand (on the coastline) to keep the perfect temperature, at the same time as waiting the turtles wreck out of their leathery shells and dig their way out of the hollow they were in. Then it really is a race for the sea which will ascertain thir survival.
