A Kilobite is 1000 bites, a megabite is 1000 kilabites and a gigabite is 100 megabites.

A terabite is 1000 gigabites.

There is 1 byte. That is about one 230th of an MP3.

1 Kilobyte (KB) =1000 Bytes (B)
1 MegaByte (MB) =1000 Kilobytes (KB) or 10,000 Bytes
1 Gigabyte (GB) = 1000 Megabytes (MB)
1 TeraByte (TB) = 1000 GigaBytes (GB)

The typical size of an MP3 song is about 3 MB
a typical hard drive on a computer is about 60 GB
The biggest hard disk available is 1 TB

They go in this order from smaller to larger:

Bit (1 digit. Basic unit of storage)
Byte ( 8 bits)
KiloByte (1024 Bytes)
MegaByte (1,048,576 bytes )
GigaByte (1,073,741,824 bytes)
TeraByte ( 1,099,511,627,776 bytes )

There are more than this, but the largest harddrive around is about 300 or 400 GB at this time.

Kilobytes are smallest....

Each is a measure of file size, in "bytes" - a byte is 8 binary digits.
A kilobyte is a 1024 bytes (1024 is a "binary thousand")
A megabyte is a million bytes, an d a gigabyte is a billion - US billion, 1,000,000,000.

1024 kb =1 mb
