Same thing happened to me when I was 9 or so, I had always got made fun of because of it so my mother actually did it for me since I was so young. I've never had a problem with the hair being worse. It actually was worse before I shaved. Discuss it with her again and explain to her that it is affecting your self esteem. She is a woman so surely she will be able to understand. Good luck!

i would recommend bleaching them. that would make them harder to see. I don't believe that shaving makes hairs thinker but what it does is make sure that the hairs will come out to the same thickness that they are at the base. right now your hairs should be thinner toward the ends. the way hairs work is they only tend to grow so long and would not grow longer then that point. (ever notice how some girls can only grow their hair so long then for some reason it just doesn't want to grow longer then that?)

if you shave it will make the hairs on your legs sharp at the points and more noticeable to the touch so like i said the best bet would be beach them and as you get older then if you want get laser hair removal but please wait till you're older. more hair follicle my come out over your teen year and you don't want to have to pay for laser twice.

Just remember that once you start to shave or wax it will become something that you will have to keep up all the time and it becomes a hassle to do. it also will make you less secure of yourself when someone notices that you forgot to upkeep

YOUR MOM IS RIGHT! Do not shave right now. I started to shave when I was 10 and my hair keep growing back darker, coarser and faster! If you really want the hair off talk to your mom about using wax strips. These may sting a bit but the good news is that the hair becomes finer as it grows back and your hair does not start growing for 2-3months (especiall true because you are so young). With shaving the hair grows back as fast as 2 days!! Its a pain..

Never shaving keeps the hair fine. When you start to shave (regardless of the age) the hair grows back courser. Your mom might just want to keep you from growing up too fast. My mom dumped the whole growing up funness on me right before the start of 7th grade. I guess to her that meant I had to start being a young adult. I wish it had been earlier and wore pants throughout sixth grade. If you really want to start, go and buy your own stuff and have at it.

Your mom has her reasons, but talk to her and tell her exactly why u want to SHAVE. If u are feminine asap. DO not wait, u do not want the memory of being the HAIRY SCARY girl. I started shaving at 10 because of cheerleading, did not have much hair but it could be felt by other girls and they would complain.

When you start feeling self-conscious about it! I would talk to your mom again and tell her you feel funny about it and would really like to start shaving. If you are already in need of a shave then it wont matter how quickly it grows back - you need it anyway - Good luck!

Hm. Well, first off, its a myth that if you shave that it will come back thicker or darker or faster.

I think its an issue that you and your mom should talk about, but if I were your Mom, I wouldnt fight with you over that; its not as if its life or death, or immoral or anything....if you want to, and you think that you look hairy, I really don't get why it should be an issue.

The longer you wait to shave, the easier it will be for you. Once you start shaving the hair gets more coarse, and then you have to shave all the time
