In this case the question should be citizens, when Israel rescued their own citizens at Entebbe. That was a masterful operation on such short notice. True, two Israeli hostages did die (one was an older lady that had to be taken a hospital where she was murder by Ugandan soldiers). Also, one Israeli soldier died, the leader of the group. I just wish I could remember his name. But, all the PLO kidnappers were killed as well as several Ugandan soldiers. I think it took all of about one hour. How many military actions do you know take one hour to get someone back?

Sparta didn't attack Troy to just get back Helen after they got there they didn't even care about Helen anymore they just wanted more power. Oh Yeah and Isreal right now is doing that thing with the kidnapped person.

Wasn't there something with morocco during Tedy Roosevelt's time? Saw part of some horrible movie about it, with candace bergman a kidnapped american, and Sean Connery her moroccan kidnapper. Yeesh

the united states....very recently in iraq...but we were already in that miltary action. but back when carte was president he tried to rescue the iranian hostages and failed. israel took back several hostages held at an airport in africa back in the 70's I don't remember the name of the airport
