I doubt if any state will not recocnize another's disability placard or plate while visiting. One caution, I don't know if the rules vary much from state to state about specific uses of the placard, but it's best to be sure that the disabled person in in the vehicle using the device. Also, do some research ahead of time about exactly what parking priveliges are extended to vehicles displaying the placard. (white, zones, blue zones, yellow zones. metered parking, public parking lots, etc.)

At the very minimum, I know, for a fact, that California will honor the New York State Placard.

The cards were a result of the Americand with Disabilities Act, but a lot of the specifics were left to each state to legislate.

Most states honor valid handicap parking permits from other states. The District of Columbia, in their infinite wisdom, does not!
