Email, yes. Text messages, no.
The way to find out if someone has read your email is quite simple. Go to your inbox, and make sure all the new mail (unread by you) has it's subject in bold print. If it is not bolded, then chances are either you have read it and simply forgot, or someone else has read it. Seeing as how most email providers bold new mail (at least in the "subject" area, if not the whole thing before you click on it to read it), you shouldn't have a problem finding out if someone has been snooping around your inbox. As for texts, I have no idea. I though they could only be read via YOUR phone. So, I guess, if someone is playing around with your phone, then I'm sure they can access--and read--your text messages.
Buona fortuna!

Go into your email program and check where it says tools, and then options and click on receipts and click 'request a red receipt for all sent messages' put the check mark in the little box. Just click on it. Then click 'apply' and every time you send out an email then you will get a email back saying your message has been opened or read with the time and whole bit.

If someone knows your password they can. You may need to change your password just to see if that is the case. Another way to tell is this: When you open up your email, it should tell you how many new messages that you have. Look at the email subjects if it has been read it will not be highlighted.

You can always check your deleted messages. Also your phone messages should be still there unless they've deleted them. Who would have access to that information? That's the question you need to ask.

you can tell if they read your email if your email is open and you haven't read it. there's no other way for them to read it and open it without you knowing it's been read.
