They invaded. To liberate you have to be asked for help. Like the people of Rwanda did but they have no oil so no help

Do you REALLY believe that Iraq has been 'liberated'??!

Last I heard, it was invaded, raped, and ransacked - and it's still in the midst of a 'war'! Bush may have claimed it was over, but it doesn't look that way to anyone else!

Anyway, if Kurds go back to Iraq now they might be mistaken for 'Al Quaida' when they have a wedding party ...
or their 3 year olds might be mistaken for 'armed terrorist men' ...
or their home might be mistaken for a bomb factory... and torpedoed!

THAT'S probably why they stay out of Iraq...

Kurds still where?England/America/Iraq?The Kurds live in Iraq (remember when Sad am drained the marshes)Kurds living in America, remember Vietnam, how many American soldiers were killed there.Yet you still allow refugees to live in America.Kurds in England?Kurdish people have lived here for years no problems. We were not fighting the Kurds,in fact the Kurds helped to secure the Northern oilfields.Sadam tried to wipe the Kurds out, same as Turkey would if America let them. What about Germans/Japanese?Do we send them home as well because of all the English and American troops killed in World War2?Another one comes to mind Korea, with Chinese help, send them all home as well?Mexicans, send them home as well.Remember The Alamo, Santa Anna and his mob.No I'm sorry i have no grief with Kurdish people they were our allies not the enemy. The enemy was lovable Uncle Sadam and his henchmen.

i am sure that the good Iraqi children and civilians now lying 6 feet under are very grateful for being "liberated" by the americans. and , btw, study your geography, history and current affairs before asking stupid questions like this. don't be fooled. iraq was invaded not liberated. it is the worse and pointless war thought up by the americans to get their oil. so now, how many people's lives are in one drop of oil? nad btw, i have been through a war- it's always horrible, never liberating, never justified. hope you can at least understand that

Would you want to return to Iraq from here right now? Pop over there yourself and see how you like it.

A better question is from why are so many Rumanians and Albanians still seeking asylum? Both countries are democratic and free from political adversities.

I am sure that most of the refugees are here (UK)under false pretences

I personally have met dozens of "refugees"/Asylum seekers whist working on building sites.

As soon as they get "leave to remain" they apply for travel documents and return for a holiday to the country that they were "forced to flee".

You would think that the immigration office would be able to "flag up" the names of these people and that their re-entry would be refused.

The people of the UK are being pissed on by their own government and these so-called refugees

it isn't "plenty" of yankee squaddies in case you imagine about it. In Iraq the U. S. lost something like 4500 troops killed in ten years. to placed this in attitude, contained in the first conflict of the Somme in WW1, Britian on my own lost 20,000 troops killed contained in the first DAY, this is 833 each hour, so in that conflict the British lost as many troops in 5 a million/2 HOURS as we did in Iraq in TEN YEARS. "plenty" of yankee troops have not died for oil. extra human beings than that were killed in highway injuries at domicile.
