Holy crap. Is it really that hard to type the word ‘to’ instead of 2? Ok, ok, I’ll admit I use the dreaded 'lol' sparingly, but for gods sake does no one realize how moronic this looks:

Q: my gf wont say she loves me. Why?

A: like ur gf used 2 be hot 4 u but dosent want u n e more, when u say she told u b4 did she said it online or sumthin? cuz ur gf says tons of stuff to any1, maybe she likes u, but prolly not, she prolly felt pressured 2 go out w/ u. have you seen her nakid? if she doent say it nakid she not in2 u. theres no way around it, i'm not sure tho cuz ur question was unclear

The question was unclear? The question? Holy ****. Is this even considered English? Seriously, why would anyone want to look this stupid?

Amen. It's not that difficult to type properly, and it gives people one less reason to think you're an idiot (there's always the content of what you're writing, naturally ;).

Netspeak is becoming a common problem on many websites, forums, blogs etc.

I know it's very annoying but you start to get used to it eventually. Just try to make sure you don't write on paper in the same way ;-)

I don't think there is anything that can be done to stop it in all reality - most people can't type properly so it is quicker for them to use netspeak.

I admire your spirit though - not many of us still out there that like to use proper english!

Welcome to the age of "texting." When you have an itty-bitty phone and you are constantly messaging someone, it is understood that one abbreviates (a loose use of the term, I know)whenever one can so as to speed up communication. I'm amazed anyone spends any time trying to use a phone to type messages, but then, I'm not a 16 year old girl.

I agree, however, that one should take time to be clear, succinct, and pithy when one has access to a keyboard and a pc.

Actually some people do it's just some people cannot type as fast and would like to get their say in quicker than someone else and sometimes it helps on online games.

The funny thing is most of these people are college students. I guess it stems from text messaging on their cell phones so much. Just a hunch.

Due to the constant use of shortcuts and ms autocomplete shortcuts pervade our verbage ad nauseum. gf must mean good friend. Just find the shortcut for "flibbertigibbet."

I would like to know also. I think people are just lazy. Most of them probably can't spell either. Proper use of capitals is gone also. You would think that the keyboards were defective.

My problem is punctuation. I wonder if people realize there is a check spelling available.
