Rest, Ice or Heat (depending on the type of pain), gentle stretching, and anti-inflammatory meds if necessary.
If the pain lasts more than a few days or you experience pain / numbness / tingling down your lower extremities you need to see a physician - not chiropractor. An orthopedic specialist or neurologist (depending on the cause of pain) would be best to diagnose your condition and they may recommend a physical therapist or chiropractor.

It depends on what's causing the pain. But a good massage will give you a great deal of relief, and follow that up with a heating pad.
For the long term, you might consider stretches and exercises to strengthen your back muscles.
Good luck!

I have arthritis's in my hips and I go to a tanning bed. I also have lower back pain. The heat helps relax the muscles. It really feels good on a cool day out.

Maybe try stretching it out. Like try twisting around, or reaching way up high then roll down to your toes.
Or go see a doctor. =)
