It is my understanding that the families and friends were pleased that it was made and/or got to view it first and had the option of not wanting it released.
I'm glad they made it, it's like a way of remembrance

Yes, without any doubt. For a kick off the film makers and director made absolutely sure that the survivors and family members were happy and even went so far as to interview them. The fact that over 50m has gone to the charity set up to help those who suffered is cause alone why the film should have been made, the fact it opens people eyes is another. I watched it with a friend and at the start was asking the very same question to myself, my friend had no idea there was a forth plane involved in the attacks and it made me think how many other people had no idea as well, it opens your eyes to the tradgedy and makes more and more people look into the tragic even which in turn educates people and lead to things like this never happening again, education is the best tool against terrorism, who said that?? Oh, me just then. Well in this case it was, the film is beautifully crafted and serves only to educate those who knew nothing about the people on united 93 and what they did for their country.

No, especially since the war is not even over yet, and the "brilliant" Americans had to then target the wrong people afterwords, in my opinion it will just make the people even more angry when there's more that enough anger going on, they should have waited....the war is still going on, so what is there to remember? why did it all start? Now something that was huge has become just another movie.....

personally i think its too soon, although as i have heard, it was made sensitively alongside with the victims families. Even though I was lucky enough to not have been directly affected by it, it was a shocking event that still makes my blood run cold. Don't think I can watch a movie with that content, when someone somewhere is going to be benefitting from the money it brings in

If I heard correctly, the director personally called all the families and asked first...it was a unanimous yes.

Yes, it made me see the terrorist attacks in a whole new light. I was able to sympathize more for these people. I do think the movie was very heavy and a lot to take in. It is a movie one has to be prepared to see. It gives the world an insight though, one that more people need to have. It was a deep movie. :)

This is a free country, so they can make what they want. It works the other way also, so I can choose whether to watch it or not and I won't.
