Never would I be anti-communist. Id vote for a TRUE S/C/M in the next election IF i believed them.

Did you read all this ignorant cr*p written above? People are ridiculous. It's a shame that we as a society cant seem to THINK outside of the box of ilknowledge we've been brainwashed into believing.

LOGICALLY ... communism is the best choice for human survival.

Communism is a sick, twisted form of government. It is nothing less than slavery. At the top, you have the hypocritical, bloated Communist party bosses who enjoy all sorts of perks and luxuries that the average person will never be allowed to have.

The best political system is one which is most like a marriage. Communism is like a master and slave owner. The Communist Party bosses tell you where you could live, what you can study in school, if and where you can travel, etc. For good measure, they fence you in, just in case you think about escaping.

As an example, Soviet Communism was an attempt to create a new, selfless man. However, as any vibrant capitalist economy will show, an economy only works when people are working in their own self interest. Ayn Rand had it right when she extolled the virtues of selfishness.

Economically, the only thing Communism did was to make EVERYONE poor.

To show the level of apathy that Communism creates, here are a couple things you could always hear in those countries:

1) They pretend to pay me, and I pretend to work.
2) If you aren't stealing from your job, you're taking food out of your family's mouth.

Communism also depends on depriving people of their right to know what is happening in the outside world. When the people of Russia and Eastern Europe saw the great disparity between how they lived and the West, they were angry, bitter, and resentful. Communism could only survive on lies, so once people knew the truth, Communism was doomed due to lack of popular support.

If you want to see the true, vile nature of Communism, watch the movie DARK BLUE WORLD. It recounts how the brave Czech pilots who refused to surrender fled to England to join the fight against the Nazis. After the war, the Communists feared they had picked up dangerous Western ideas about freedom. So, they had these heroic Czech pilots thrown into a nighmarish prison, where some of the guards were the same Nazis they risked their lives to defeat.

Still think Communism is good?

Anti-Communist?

I don't think Socialists are advocating voting thier way into power.

Communists in America are virtually non-existent, the ones who do remain are seriously clueless, in my opinion.

Marxists are not a political party at all. So no one will be voting for Marx, since he is long dead.

Socialists actively support the struggle of workers and all oppressed people for economic, political and social reforms, both as a means to improve their conditions and to advance their confidence and fighting strength. But reforms within the capitalist system cannot put an end to oppression and exploitation. Capitalism must be replaced.

Socialists do not support candidates of capitalist parties like the Democrats or the Republicans. They only support genuine left-wing candidates and political action that promotes independence from the corporate-dominated two-party system in the U.S. This is not a reform ideology as much as it is building the foundation for a revolution. Socialists are preparing to seize power by force if necessary.

Socialism is working-class self-emancipation. Only mass struggles of the workers themselves can put an end to the capitalist system of oppression and exploitation.

I am very anti communist. You people confuse an evil, very close to good, copy of the united order, with the real thing. The true theory of communism sounds good, except while everyone is working for equal scraps, the upper crust is enjoying the gravy. The united order is the form of society that God would have us live. Where everybody works for the good of everybody. Not where everybody works for the good of the upper crust and the Communist regime, while giving up all their freedoms.

No. And No for the other one as well. There is nothing wrong with communism as an idea, but it doesn't work very well in practice.
In theory, communism, which is an economical idea rather then a political one, could work with any system of goverment, preferably a democratic one. In practice, all the examples history affords us have morphed into full blown dictatorship very quickly. I cannot imagine it could be otherwise in any reasonably large group.
Finally, I cannot see communism as a solution to the worlds problems, certainly today. The idea that economical equality of men will lead to social equality is somewhat naive.

Lots of people associate "communist" with "totalitarian" simply because many of the communist-based governments in the world have used totalitarian means to force their citizens to comply with their rules. That shouldn't necessarily be the case (it wasn't a tenet of Marx's original social theories)...and like anything else in this world there are "shades and levels" of communism :)
If there was a good candidate with good ideas and strong leadership abilities (who was also very intelligent), who also happened to be a communist, I'd consider voting for that candidate. But he/she would never win...

No, I wouldn't. Anybody who is too far in any direction would not take this country in the proper direction. The far right and far left are like folks playing tug of war, and the middle, "moderate" people (the majority) are the rope. Extremists should never have as much power (and never will, in this country at least) as someone who understands how to compromise.

That being said, occasional radicals are good for the health of a country. Look at Abe Lincoln, and before him, Andrew Jackson, and before them, our good old founding fathers who broke from the status quo and said "F*** you" to Great Britain.

P.S. LN has3 zjc has it right: Let's all vote for the Marx Bros. (even tho they bin ded 30 yr)

P.P.S. On a related note: How the hell come the U.S. (a 230-yr-old country) gets TWO legitimate candidates for President, but Afghanistan (a three year old country that's a major car-bombing away from exploding at the seams) gets SIXTEEN FRICKIN' CANDIDATES????

Yes l am and No l would not. There are a couple of socialist ideas that have some merit but as you see no country has ever had success with Communism. l do think western European countries have a better idea of social programs than communism.

Communists wouldn't offer any freedoms. In fact, I have a question, about that: Should the Federal government focus not only on our restrictions, but on our freedoms as well? Feel free to answer.
